Discover the romance of Hydra with boat charter in Greece

Visitors to Greece are spoiled for choice when it comes to charming destinations, but near the top of any couple’s wish list is the beautiful island of Hydra. When you are holidaying with a boat charter in Greece, make sure you and your loved one spend some time together in this most magical of spots.
Hydra has garnered something of a reputation as a millionaire’s playground and it is certainly popular with the yachting crowd, with good reason. The horseshoe-shaped bay welcomes you in and invites you to explore Hydra’s enchanting winding streets. Part of Hydra’s charm is that no motorised vehicles are permitted on the island, meaning that all loads are shifted the old-fashioned way – by donkey. This not only makes Hydra beautifully quiet but also gives it an old-world feel that simply adds to its charm.
Unlike many of the other Greek islands, there are no ancient temples to visit here; therefore, you don’t feel guilty about simply kicking back and relaxing. The island has long been a big draw for artists and musicians, including Leonard Cohen, resulting in an eclectic group of galleries and museums to explore should you so choose. Otherwise, simply visit one of the many pretty pebble beaches, such as Kamini or Mandraki Bay. Dip your toes in the clear waters, where some of the world’s finest sponges can be found, before enjoying a cool drink and watching the world go by.
Round off your day with a stroll along the port and a romantic dinner for two, sampling the freshly-caught seafood and watching the sun set over the sea.
