Venetian influences can be seen in much of the city’s architecture and this magnificent building is no exception. Radovan’s Romanesque portal features not only the distinctive Lion of Venice emblem but also a depiction of Adam and Eve. The elaborate Chapel of St Ivan is well worth a look, as is the famous treasury with its ivory triptych and illuminated manuscripts.
The city itself is a charming maze of medieval streets packed with cafes and quirky shops. You can also enjoy a spot of people-watching along the bustling waterfront.
To see another facet of this town’s history, take a trip to the Kamerlengo Fortress. Built by the Venetians when Trogir was a navally-significant port, it is now used as a multimedia performance venue hosting open-air concerts and cinema screenings.
