Croatia is easily one of the most beautiful countries in the world, and it’s only very recently that it has started to get the attention it really deserves. As two of our favourite stops on our Croatian yacht getaway itinerary, we think Dubrovnik and Spilt more than deserve all the attention they receive, but as champions for every part of Croatia, here are a few of our top underrated locations to tempt you into visiting this dreamy destination.
The Secluded Bays of the Elaphiti Islands
The whole of Croatia is famous for its shimmering turquoise waters, but there’s something extra beautiful about the seas around the Elaphiti Islands. Perhaps it’s the unique coastline, secluded coves and beautiful hidden bays that make this a special place. Truly idyllic, we guarantee you’ll never forget the time you spent here.
Experience Hvar’s Protected Nature Park on Your Yacht Getaway
Hvar is most famous for its bustling atmosphere, out-of-this-world delicious restaurants and fabulous nightlife, but just off the island’s south shore the small but perfectly formed island of Šcedro is just waiting to show you its secrets. It’s protected nature park status means it remains gloriously untouched, and you’ll be taken by the beautiful scent of wildflowers mixed with the salty ocean breeze. Although once the scene of a fierce battle between Caesar and Pompeius, now this beautiful island is the place to be to soak in a sense of peace and tranquillity.
Admire Mljet’s Natural Beauty
There are a couple of picturesque villages on Mljet, each with a few spectacular churches that are certain to take your breath away, but the star of the show is easily the island’s stunning national park. There isn’t one singular must-see attraction, which is why this jewel has remained somewhat under the radar, and that just makes us love it even more. Whatever you choose to do, whether that’s following the trails through the forest, kayaking around the Benedictine Monastery or soaking in the sunshine beside a stunning lake, you’ll have a wonderful time admiring the natural, unspoilt beauty of this dreamy island.
