Milna is known locally as the Bay of a Thousand Ships and has a long and rich nautical history. Its convenient location and reputation as a safe harbour means sailors have been travelling through here for hundreds of years; in addition, many of the country’s ships were built here using techniques sometimes a still employed today. Much of Milna is focused on its sea-faring heritage and it is one of Dalmatia’s most popular fishing villages with visitors.
In addition to the port, the Baroque church is a well-loved attraction and features some lovely works of art inside. Those who want to make the most of the surrounding waters can enjoy scuba diving or fishing while they are here; alternatively, simply enjoy the beautiful scenery and take a gentle stroll among the many vineyards and olive groves for sheer, charming bliss.
