Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is mandatory in case of trip curtailment, illness, injury or loss/damage of personal items. We advise talking to your bank or credit card company about their travel insurance options. Alternatively, you could explore independent travel insurance providers such as World Nomads or Silver Nomads.

Dietary Requirements

For any dietary requirements, please let the team know by sending them an email. Any medical conditions must be disclosed to your Skipper. You can do this in private when you join the trip.

Visas & Passport

All travellers will need a passport valid for at least 6 months following your departure date from Croatia. Make sure your passport has blank Visa pages. Check www.visahq.com for Visa requirements for all nationalities.

International License

If you would like to rent a scooter or quad bike, make sure you have your International driver’s license with you! This will need to be organised in your home country and we recommend applying for this at least 6 weeks before your holiday. Some countries also require an A1 license, so if you are not sure please contact us via email.

Packing

Be sure to pack your favourite summer clothes – we also recommend packing a portable charger, any medication needed and your own reusable water bottle! Linen is provided, except for your swimming towel so do bring one along. Check out our handy packing guide!

AIR CONDITIONING

Air-conditioning is available in both cabins and communal areas throughout your trip. However, please be aware that there may be occasional interruptions due to local power supply limitations and regulations. Check with your crew upon arrival for more details.

WATER

Please conserve water when we are away from a water supply! It is best practice to adopt an on/off approach to taps when washing and showering on board. And don’t worry about getting thirsty, Yacht Getaways will provide you with drinking water!

LUGGAGE

We recommend bringing a soft-sided bag of around 20kg on board. This is just a suggestion to ensure maximum comfort in your cabin.

We do not have restrictions for the amount of luggage you can bring onboard. However, all of your luggage will need to be stored in your cabin.

POWER

Power will be available onboard your yacht whenever you are connected to shore power. At all other times, you should be able to charge your devices when the yacht’s engine is switched on. Please note: Catamarans are equipped with European sockets (two-pin plugs).

WIFI

There is no Wi-Fi on board the boats but there will be an abundance of Wi-Fi on the shore across all of our destinations at the many restaurants and bars during your week of sailing. You can also buy data packages for your phone at the airport or an eSIM to help keep you connected whilst on the trip.

TIPPING

Your Skipper and Host are there to look after you and ensure you have the best trip possible. If you feel they’ve succeeded in this regard then please feel free to tip them, it is good practice to tip the crew 10-15% of the booking price.

CREW FACILITIES

Superior yachts are equipped with 4 en-suite cabins and 2 dedicated crew cabins. Please note the crew cabins are not equipped with bathrooms, so your crew will require the use of the guest bathrooms at times. Prestige catamarans are equipped with 6 en-suite cabins, with one cabin reserved for crew use only.

CABIN ALLOCATIONS

All cabins will be allocated before arrival. Any cabin requests will be accommodated where possible, but otherwise will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. This is also the case onboard Prestige Catamarans, unless a King cabin has been paid for and reserved. Please check with the customer service team if you are not certain what cabin you will be in. If you have a preference, please get in touch with our customer service team.

BYO

Feel to bring your alcoholic drinks and snacks on board for the week. There is a fridge available on board to keep your drinks cool. Drinking water is supplied onboard. Please note: The fridge on board is small and shared amongst all guests.

WEATHER

Due to the nature of sailing holidays, weather conditions can alter itineraries. We will monitor the weather forecast closely for adverse weather that may result in last-minute changes to your holiday. If this occurs, Yacht Getaways will endeavour to inform guests of any possible disruption before departure and your Skipper & Host team will ensure you are well looked after and making the most of your trip!

Please note: If your trip experiences delays due to adverse weather this will be covered by your travel insurance, so do ensure you have the correct insurance cover before your departure.

Sea Sickness

During peak season the water is quite calm but if you’re worried about seasickness, be sure to pack some motion sickness tablets. Natural alternatives that can also help include ginger tea and sea bands!

Be Sun Smart

Time spent sailing means time spent in the sun, and temperatures can reach a scorching 40°C+ (104°F+). Be sure to wear a high factor sun cream on and off-board, seek out shade if you can, or bring a small handheld fan to keep you cool! We also recommend wearing a hat whilst lounging on deck as the sun’s rays are reflected through the water making it easy to get sunburnt.

Stay Hydrated

After a big day of paddle boarding, water sports and mingling you may not realise how dehydrated you’re becoming! Yacht Getaways will provide drinking water, so please make sure you fill up your reusable water bottle regularly to avoid getting heat stroke. It happens really quickly, and before you know it dehydration or heat stroke can derail your holiday and could end up cutting your trip short.

Drink Responsibly

We want everyone to have the best time when on holiday with us and that will surely include sampling some amazing local drinks and cocktails on offer! But we do ask that everyone drinks responsibly and looks out for their fellow friends and crew. We also kindly ask that you always follow the instructions of your Skipper and Host. They are there for your comfort and safety.
